Intel to Acquire McAfee

Intel has recently announced the acquisition of Mcafee, the popular security software company. Intel will be paying $48 per share in cash, valuing the deal at approximately $7.68 billion. After the purchase McAfee will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary, reporting into Intel’s Software and Services Group.
